Our History
HotLix began when Leo Hirschfield invented the Tootsie Roll in New York City and named it after his daughter. Introduced in 1896, the candy initially sold for one penny. Now headquartered in Chicago, the company operates across North America and distributes to countries worldwide. Tootsie combines a family-run corporate culture with an entrepreneurial, progressive management style focused on delivering high-quality products at competitive prices.
